HAMILTON COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — A Brazil man is now behind bars after he allegedly fired shots into an occupied vehicle in Hamilton County early Saturday morning.
According to news release, the Fishers Police Department responded to the area of 11600 block of Exit 5 in Fishers just before 3:40 a.m. in reference to a report of a vehicle that had just been shot at.
The victim of the shooting was able to relay information that the suspect was driving a white F150 that was traveling eastbound on 116th St. in Fishers. Deputies located the truck and conducted a traffic stop before arresting the suspect without incident.
The suspect was later identified as a Ronald Leach of Brazil, IN. Leach showed signs of intoxication, and a handgun was located in his vehicle.
Later the victim, confirmed the incident occurred before at a local bar. Leach was asked to leave the bar but at some point, returned and argued with an employee over the whereabouts of his driver’s license. The victim, an employee of the bar, left work and later observed the suspect’s F150 in a turn lane at a stop light. The victim drove in the opposite direction before the victim’s vehicle was shot at near the intersection of 116th St. and Exit Parkway.
No injuries were reported however, the rear driver’s side of the victim’s vehicle sustained damage.
Ronald Leach of Brazil was transported to the Hamilton County Jail and charged with the following:
- Criminal Recklessness with a deadly weapon – Level 6 felony
- Pointing a Firearm at another – Level 6 felony
- OWI – Operating a vehicle while intoxicated and has prior convictions – Level 6 Felony
