BRIDGETON, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Looking for something to do this weekend? One area event allows visitors to time-travel back to the 1800s.
Held both Saturday and Sunday in Bridgeton, the event promises plenty of fun, food, and history for visitors of all ages.
“Come out and enjoy a taste of authentic pioneer living in a beautiful historic setting,” a news release reads.
With free parking and no admission fee, attendees can walk through the camp and talk with participants who portray life as it was in the 1800s. There will be Hearth Cooking demonstrations in the 1822 Log Cabin, live demonstrations at the Bridgeton Mill, Vendors in both the 1878 Barn and the Artisan’s Barn at the Mill, as well as food available for purchase at Collom’s Store and the Mill Snack Shop.
A schedule of additional events is as follows;
Saturday
- 8 a.m. Registration for the Memorial Shoot at the 1822 Log Cabin
- 10 a.m. Memorial Shoot
- 1 p.m. Hawk & Knife Throw
- 2 p.m. Primitive Bow Shoot
- 2-7 p.m. VFD Fish Fry at the new firehouse
- 6 p.m. Friendship Fire
Sunday
- 11 a.m. Novelty Shoot
- 2 p.m. Skillet Throw
Bridgeton Volunteer Fire Department will host their Jonah Fish Fry at their new firehouse.
“Shops will be open including the 1878 House, Liberty Tree Shop and Old Barn New,” a news release reads. “Visit the 1878 Barn, the Artisan Barn at the Mill, and Collom’s Store for original artwork, handmade crafts, and authentic settlers. And don’t forget to take a stroll through the beautiful Bridgeton Covered Bridge.”
